Norton LowBoy Domiracer 88SS Tom Phillis 1961

$24,990.00

The 1961 Tom Phillis Norton LowBoy Domiracer 88SS is a rare and highly collectible piece of Australian motorcycle racing history. This 500cc Norton is built in a genuine Mick Hemmings LowBoy frame, a design no longer produced, and pays tribute to legendary Australian racer Tom Phillis, who was the first rider to lap the Isle of Man TT Mountain Course at over 100 mph on a pushrod-engined motorcycle.

The engine has recently undergone a fresh rebuild by Russell Craddock, featuring a Nourish one-piece crank, Carrillo conrods, Joe Hunt magneto, Karl Morlang camshaft, JE pistons and a 13:1 compression ratio. It is paired with a freshly rebuilt 4-speed AMC gearbox, Norvil/Hemmings primary belt drive and brand-new Barnett clutch plates.

The chassis features Manx Norton wheels, brakes, swingarm and Roadholder forks, along with twin Keihin 30mm smoothbore carburettors. The bike also comes with a Historic Racing Logbook, rebuild documentation, Trojan Classics pit starter and a selection of spare parts, including exhaust pipes, tyres and a Tom Phillis replica seat.

A genuinely unique classic racing motorcycle with significant Australian and Isle of Man TT heritage.
